we've been home for about a month and i'm just now getting around to documenting the last photos from our summer in chicago. its nice to be home but we're so grateful for all the amazing experiences we were able to have in such a unique city.
my aunt was able to come out and visit for a few days! it turned out to be one of the hottest weeks of the summer but we still had a fun time. the day she flew in we took her to our favorite lunch spot, pastoral, then walked around the lincoln park zoo.
(please excuse the shiny faces...record temps i tell you)
cody couldn't play with us the rest of the time but kristi and i treated ourselves to an architectural boat tour (thank you groupon!)
we tried out a 'rick bayless' restaurant i had been eyeing called xoco and experienced some insanely good tortas and churros/chocolate.
unfortunately on her last day the weather was extremely hazy/cloudy but we still had to venture to the top of the john hancock building for views of the entire city and lake michigan.
it was a wonderful few days filled with shopping, sightseeing, and way too much eating.
then, on our last weekend in chicago cody and i decided we really wanted to go to a cubs game. we got to wrigley field with intentions of finding tickets there. sadly tickets turned out to be far more expensive than we thought so we settled for just taking a few photos.
the stadium is a lot smaller than most so they have extra rooftop seating across the street!
and that's the end of our summer! we can't wait to go back and visit someday.
