better late than never.

it's about time i post about my trip to LA. it was such a fun weekend being able to stay with melody, eat lots of food, do some shopping, and hang out with amanda for a day. melody lives in the guest house of a family in the mountains of malibu, on the same road as the house where the bachelor is filmed...very cool.

somehow we only thought to take pictures when we were eating. go figure.

i talked mel into tracking down the kogi truck with me. so. worth. it.

we tried out pink's hot dogs. mel made a wise decision and stuck with the classic chili cheese dog. i'm embarrassed to admit that i implemented the "go big or go home" philosophy and went for the "mulholland drive dog". bacon, nacho cheese, onion, and mushroom... bad idea. but the onion rings were sure good.

we had the greatest sushi of our lives at geisha house in hollywood.

that same day we were aimlessly driving through all the beautiful neighborhoods in beverly hills and came upon ozzy osbourne's old house, which is now owned by christina aguilera. consequently we drove by just as she was having her son's 2nd birthday party. fireman themed. apparently it was the place to be and we saw christina, gwen stefani and their kiddies riding around the neighborhood on top of a fire truck.

thanks for the fabulous weekend, mel. so happy you could tear yourself away from the library for a weekend to hang out with me!

i also got to hang out with amanda on a rainy sunday while i was there. it was so fun to meet her cute family and just lounge around her room talking, catching up, and watching tivo'd episodes of grey's anatomy. just like the good ol provo days. she treated me to a home-made lunch at her house of paninis and avocado/strawberry salad (to die for).
